BHEL dispatches critical components for hydro tests

TIRUCHI: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Tiruchi, on Tuesday despatched 40 tons of critical components meant for hydro tests to Mauda and Vindyachal.

S.C. Pandey, Regional Executive Director, Western Region, NTPC Ltd flagged off the consignment in the presence of S. N. Ganguly, Executive Director, Vindyachal Thermal Power Project; V. Thangapandian, Genearl Manager,Mauda Project; and A.V. Krishnan, Executive Director, BHEL, Tiruchi.

A press release said BHEL was executing two 500 MW contracts each for NTPC's Vindyachal (Madhya Pradesh) and Mauda (Maharashtra) Super Thermal Power Projects.

K. Ramachandran, General Manager, Commercial and Marketing (Fossil Boilers) and S. Gopinath, General Manager, Operations (Boiler Shops) took the customer team around the production shops including the new unit.

Valued cumulatively around Rs.4,500 crore, BHEL had won these projects against International Competitive Bidding (ICB) and the projects are progressing as per schedule.

The customers, after the review meeting with Mr. Krishnan and other BHEL officials, expressed satisfaction over the progress. The units are scheduled to undergo hydro tests in May 2011, the release said.
