VELLORE: A 58-year-old woman prisoner lodged in the Special Prison for Women, Vellore, died due to illness at Vellore Government Medical College and Hospital, Adukkamparai, on Thursday. According to the Vellore taluk police, Pappathi of Ponneri village in Tirupattur taluk, was remanded to prison on November 29 in a prohibition case. She was admitted to hospital on December 8 owing to health problems. She died at 5.50 a.m. on Thursday, police said.
