Nine special teams constituted

Nagercoil: The district administration has constituted nine special teams to monitor the flood situation in nine taluks including Agastheeswaram, Thovalai, Killiyoor, Rajakkamangalam, Kurunthencode, Thiruvattar, Munchirai, Thazhakudi and Melpuram, Collector Rajendra Ratnoo said.
He said that necessary steps would be taken to provide relief measures to all the rain-affected persons in the district.
In all 9 taluks
Flood monitoring rooms had also been set up in all the nine taluks to extend the relief measures. The inflow into the Pechipparai dam was 5,333 cusecs and the discharge was 5,000 cusecs.
The inflow into Perunchani was 3,287 cusecs and the discharge was 3,565 cusecs. While the inflow was 1,578 cusecs in Chittar I, the discharge was 1,067 cusecs and the inflow of water into Chittar II was 1,500 cusecs and the outflow was 1,000 cusecs.
The water level in Pechipparai dam stood at 45.82 feet against the total capacity of 48 feet, 75.54 feet in Perunchani against the total capacity of 77 feet, 16.43 feet in Chittar I against the total capacity of 18 feet and 16.53 feet in Chittar II against the total capacity of 18 feet.
