CHENNAI: The Madras High Court on Friday directed police authorities to produce Vijay Sri Hari (9), son of Vanitha Vijayakumar, who is the daughter of actor Vijayakumar, before the court on December 13. A Division Bench, comprising Justices Elipe Dharma Rao and D. Hariparanthaman, gave the direction on a petition by Ms. Vanitha. When the matter came up , Ms. Vanitha and her husband Anand Rajan were present. She herself argued the case. In her petition, Ms. Vanitha stated that out of her marriage with S. Anand alias Akash, they had two children, Vijay Sri Hari and Jovika. Later, she and her husband divorced. She married Anand Rajan in 2007. Her son was in her permanent custody following a court order. When she along with her husband and children returned home on December 3 after going to a restaurant, a group of people forcibly took away Vijay Sri Hari. She alleged that her son was being illegally detained by S. Anand alias Akash. She had filed a police complaint. The matter was under investigation. She prayed for a direction to the police to produce her son before the court and hand him over to her. Vijayakumar, Manjula file bail plea Mr. Vijayakumar and his wife Manjula filed an anticipatory bail application in the High Court in connection with a case registered by the Maduravoyal police station. The FIR was based on a complaint by Ms. Vanitha on November 7 regarding an incident in the petitioners' house. Ms. Vanitha alleged that her parents had voluntarily caused hurt and wrongfully restrained her. The petitioners said they were diabetics and suffering from hypertension and under constant medication. In the event of their arrest, they should be enlarged on bail.
