Man dies of burns

Nagercoil: Nagarajan (33) of Baharathi Nagar near Thuckalay, who sustained burns at Kollenvilai near Thuckalay, died. According to police sources, a ‘kavadi' festival was organised in the last Friday of Tamil month of Karthigai. When a kavadi procession was proceeding from Thuckalay to Velimalai Murugan temple at Kumarakovil, he lifted the service wire of a house at Kollenvilai to ensure the smooth entry of the ‘kavadi' procession to the temple, but he was electrocuted. Nagarajan died at hospital in Nagercoil. His friends Mahesh (33) and Manikandan (33) of Thuckalay were admitted to a private hospital.
