Protest against dishonour: BJP women's wing activists led by the party's Delhi chief Vijender Gupta protesting outside the US Embassy in New Delhi on Friday. NEW DELHI: To express its strong resentment and anger over the misconduct with Indian Ambassador to the United States Meera Shankar at a US airport, the women's wing of the Delhi BJP held a protest demonstration in the Capital on Friday. Addressing the demonstration by BJP Mahila Morcha activists near the US Embassy, Delhi BJP president Vijender Gupta demanded that the country's Ambassador to India communicate the feelings expressed by the demonstration to the US administration. The US Government should immediately apologise to Ms. Shankar and the Government of India and promise that such an incident would not be repeated in future, he said. Delhi Mahila Morcha president Shikha Rai said that on the pretext of security checks American officials misbehave with officers, citizens, celebrities and even the ministers of developing and undeveloped countries. “The case of misbehaviour with Ms. Meera Shankar is not new. Before this they had misbehaved with Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel, actor Shah Rukh Khan and former Defence Minister George Fernandes in the name of security checks,” she recalled.
