Drain block was caused by woman's body

Staff Correspondent

BANGALORE: Rajgopalnagar residents had been complaining for some time about the frequent blockage of their drain and finally, the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board despatched a team of workers to investigate. The workers, who were trying to unclog the manhole on Thursday evening, were horrified to find the cause: the badly decomposed body of a woman aged between 25 and 30. The terrified men fled and the horrified local residents informed the police. The body has been sent for post-mortem and identification.

Killed for money

The Jalahalli police said they cracked a three-month-old murder by nabbing four men on Thursday. According to the police T.M. Lokesh (40) was killed by four of his most trusted friends. Police said on September 9, Lokesh, a bus driver, visited a bar along with Velu, Shiva, Velan and Shantaraju all working as painters. On their return home, the four noticed that Lokesh was carrying a large amount of cash. Overcome by greed, they killed him by crushing his head with a boulder and made off with his valuables.
