MYSORE: Excessive use of plastic is one of the main sources of urban pollution. Hence, the Mysore Grahakara Parishat has been sensitising the public to minimise the use of plastic bags.“We talked to a big department store in Mysore on Narayana Shastri Road here about reducing the use of plastic bags. The management was cooperative and promptly procured environment-friendly jute bags. These are available at a reasonable cost and can be reused,” Vasanthkumar Mysoremath of the MGP said. Unfortunately, very few customers have picked up the eco-friendly bags.
