Take it from them:Schoolchildren taking part in a rally in Mysore on Monday, organised to spread awareness on driving safely. MYSORE: Schoolchildren took out rallies in the localities coming under Saraswathipuram and Lashkar Police Station limits here on Monday to spread awareness on road safety and traffic discipline as part of the Crime Prevention Month being observed by the city police. Holding placards carrying messages on safe driving and traffic rules, the children marched on the streets, drawing the attention of vehicle users. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime and Traffic) Rajendra Prasad flagged off the rally at the Vishwamanava Double Road junction in Saraswathipuram here. The rally passed through Vishwamanva Double Road, Apollo Hospital Road and K.G. Koppal before culminating at Vijaya Vittala School. Students from Rotary West, Vijaya Vittala and Pragathi Vidya Kendra took part in it. Flagged off Mr. Prasad flagged off another rally near St. Philomena's Church in Lashkar Police Station limits. Students from Good Shepherd Convent, Savithri Convent, St. Joseph's High School and St. Mathias School participated in the rally. They covered Ashoka Road, Halladkeri, B.N. Road, Five Lights Circle and other localities in the vicinity, raising slogans on the importance of discipline to prevent road accidents. Police officers also joined the rallies and distributed pamphlets.
