Seminar on linguistics

Guntur: An International Seminar on Applied Linguistics (ISAL) being organised by the Department of English at Acharya Nagarjuna University will kick start on Wednesday, Vice-Chancellor Y.R. Haragopal Reddy said here on Monday.

Union Minister of State for Human Resources Development D. Purandheswari will deliver the inaugural address, Dr. Reddy said.

C.R. Visweswara Rao, Vice-Chancellor, Vikrama Simhapuri University, Nellore, will deliver the valedictory address on Saturday.. 

Seminar director SK. Ratna Shiela Mani said that the seminar has aroused such widespread interest with 240 papers scheduled for presentation from 80 participants.

The presentations cover a wide range of topics of theoretical and practical interest.Dr. Shiela Mani said topics covered, English of the law and business, stylistics, language and culture, language of literature, sociolinguistics, teaching of English as a second language, phonology, computational linguistics, neurolinguistics.
