Official succumbs to injuries

Tambaram: A 55-year-old official of the School Education Department, who was involved in an accident in Tambaram last week, succumbed to the injuries on Sunday night.
Traffic police said Jacob Jayasingh was the Supervisor of Block Resource Teacher Educator of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan of Madurantakam Block, Kancheepuram district. His wife, Krishnammal, also a government staff was recently Personal Assistant to the Collector, Kancheepuram (Panchayat Development), before she took over as Project Officer, Mahalir Thittam in Madurai.
The couple were living with their two sons in IOB Colony, Selaiyur. While one of them is an engineering student, the other is studying in plus two. On Thursday, Jacob Jayasingh dropped his elder son at Tambaram railway station and was returning home on a motorcycle.
On Velachery Main Road in East Tambaram, he is reported to have lost control of the vehicle, skidded and fell. Jacob Jayasingh sustained head injuries. He was rushed to a private hospital in Chromepet and succumbed to the injuries on Sunday night.
