VISAKHAPATNAM: The city police arrested two persons in two separate cases on Monday and recovered about 50 tolas of gold ornaments from them. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) J. Brahma Reddy said that the first accused K. Kumar of Siddhardh Nagar, Kancharapalem, had stolen gold ornaments weighing around 40 tolas from the houses of Mangu Venkata Jagannadha Rao and L. Giri of Adarsh Nagar. They were involved in five house-breaking incidents during June, August and November this year. Modus operandi In a separate case, V. Rameswari alias Bujji of Arilova was arrested and gold ornaments weighing around 10 tolas were recovered from her. The modus operandi of the accused was to join as a maid at the houses of doctors and steal gold ornaments. She had been indulging in thefts for two years. The accused were arrested by Three Town CI Sheik Hussain and SI s Tirumala Rao (City Task Force) and Vijayanand. Assistant Commissioners of Police M. Krishna Murthy Naidu (East), U. Ravi Prakash (north) and Fifth Town CI (crime) R. Srinivas were present at the media conference.
