KOCHI: Chairman of Petroleum & Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) L. Mansingh has said that the price of gas is not dictated by the authority. Reacting to the apprehensions raised by State government officials and Industries Minister Elamaram Karim on the price of gas at a conference on gas organised by Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation here on Monday, he said, “Under the PNGRB Act, 2006, under which the board has been constituted to regulate the entire sector, there is no provision for determining the price of gas to the consumer either by the government or by the regulator or by anybody else.” The situation is that the price discovery must take place through a competitive market.
