“Japan has realised India is best destination in Asia”

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: Japan has realised that India is the best destination now in Asia, said Kazuo Minagawa, Consul General of Japan in Chennai, here on Monday.

Talking to reporters after a 16-member delegation from Chennai visited Japan, Mr. Minagawa said the China-Japan relationship had strained. Similarly, the recent dispute between South and North Korea had prevented Japan from investing there. So, they realised that India was the best destination for investing and, particularly, Tamil Nadu. Since he took over as the Consul General in Chennai, two delegations from Chennai visited Japan and both were fruitful and effective, he said. Sharing his experience, T.P. Imbichammad, leader of the delegation, said in seven days the delegation visited six cities. N. Krishnaswami, president, Indo-Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IJCCI), Chennai, said they were planning to strengthen the language school of IJCCI.
