KOLKATA: Once popular all-Airlines Gold Cup football tournament is being revived after a gap of three years with Tower Group as sponsor. The 23rd edition will be played over six days and will have six teams including Mohammedan Sporting and Aryan Club. The meet offers Rs. 1 lakh to the winner and Rs. 50,000 to the runner-up. The tournament will be played at the Mohammedan Sporting ground with the IFA Academy team taking on Tower Jaanbazar on the opening day on December 21. The winner will take on Mohammedan Sporting with the victor moving into the final from group ‘A'. George Telegraph and Coal India will play the first match in group ‘B' and the winner will take on Techno Aryan Club for a place in the final.
