Rajkumari Amrit Kaur, President of the All-India Motor Unions Congress, said in Indore on December 16 that while there was enough scope both for road transport and for the railway to develop and grow in our country, there was little wisdom in nationalising the existing bus routes in different States. Whole-sale nationalisation was “the hall mark of the totalitarian State,” she added. Presiding over the 12 {+t} {+h} annual session of the All-India Motor Operators' conference, Rajkumari Amrit Kaur said that no country in the world including India whose territory was still by no means covered by rail communications could afford to ignore road transport.
