BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Thursday set a time frame for various infrastructural facilities to be provided by the State Government to courts. A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice J.S. Khehar and Justice A.S. Bopanna passed the order after the Chief Secretary filed an affidavit detailing the steps that the Government intended to take to provide facilities to courts. The Bench asked the State to complete by December 31, 2010 works, including installation of mechanised parking slots, on the High Court premises. It also said that the new building to house the canteen near the High Court must be completed within six months. It also wanted the Traffic police to ensure that the Lalbagh Road from MTR Hotel/Urvashi Cinema junction to Double Road Junction (Shantinagar BMTC bus stand) is made a two-way. The road is one-way and vehicles can only move from Urvashi Cinema Junction towards Double Road. The State was also asked to ensure that a model court hall was set up at the Mayo Hall Courts. The Bench also directed the State to set up Judges Quarters at Mayo Hall Court halls.
