NEW DELHI: Chiragh Kumar's consistency paid off as he scored a bogey-free four-under 68 to emerge as the leader after the third round of the Rs. 10 million LG Masters of PGTI at the Delhi Golf Club here on Friday. Chiragh, after his two rounds of 69 and the shared-third slot the day before, banked on his top-class putting on the front nine to take a one-stroke lead with an aggregate of 206. Leader for two days, Sanjay Kumar, shot a two-under 70 to gather a nine-under 207 for the second position. Overnight joint-leader Sankar Das's even par performance took him to the tied-third place with Shamim Khan. Chiragh was on song on the first nine, sinking three birdies including two 25-plus-footers on the fifth and seventh holes. He signed off with another one to jump two places up. “My hitting was excellent. I just stuck to a certain game-plan and kept it in play today,” said Chiragh Sanjay Kumar made four birdies against two bogeys. He was aware that he had to improve his putting in the final round. “I made two three-putts today and cannot afford to make such mistakes in the final round,” he said. Ali Sher, placed tied-22nd at five over 221, fired a hole-in-one in his round of 70. He achieved the feat on the 17th with a six-iron tee shot.
