Ajay Kini triumphs
Chennai: Wallace Sports' Ajay Kini won the Formula Swift drivers championship in the the J.K. Tyre National Road Racing Championship at the Madras Motor Race Track here on Saturday.
Ajay sealed the championship title with 77 points — with a race to spare on Sunday — with a fourth-place finish on Saturday.
However, the second and third spots will be identified only after the concluding race on Sunday. In contention for the two places are Chennai lad Goutham Parekh (64 points, Wallace Sports) and Mumbai's Ameya Walavalkar (63, TVS Girling).
In the Formula Rolon event, the contest begins anew one last time as Saran Vikram of Mars Racing — occupying the top spot with 53 points — battles Vikash Anand (46) and Chittesh Mandody (40).
In qualifiers for the Polo Cup, Chennai's Vishnu Prasad took the pole, marginally ahead of Sailesh Bolisetti.
