Rajagiri enters semifinal

KOCHI: Rajagiri Public School, Kalamassery defeated Kakkanad's Bhavan's Adarsha Vidyalaya 3-2, via the tiebreaker, and entered the semifinals of the Mahindra Youth Football Challenge inter-school tournament at the Panampilly Nagar Govt HSS Ground here on Saturday.

The teams were goalless at the end of the regulation period. Ananthu, Ajmal and Richu converted for Rajagiri in the tiebreaker while only Arjun and Nikhil were successful for Bhavan's Adarsha.

At Kozhikode, HMVHSS, Manjeri, thrashed Govt. UP School 4-0. In the other matches, GVHSS, Kinasseri beat SOHSS, Areekad 2-0. St. Joseph's BHSS, Kozhikode defeated St. Michael's, Kannur 1-0. SSHSS, Moorkanad meanwhile, beat GFHSS, Padanna 2-1.

Fridays' results: Don Bosco HSS, Vaduthala 7 (Akshay N. Joshi, Ebin Vincent & Sahil Titus 2 each; Sebastian Sanoj 1) bt Mar Thoma PS, Edachira.

Sacred Heart HSS, Thevara 1 (Antony Thadevus ) bt St. Albert's HSS, Ernakulam 0.
