‘Water board penalising consumers'
Special Correspondent
Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Resident's Forum (GHRF), Hyderabad City Committee, criticised the ‘indirect hike' in charges made by the water board and asked it to withdraw the same forthwith.
In a press release, S. Sahadev, convenor, GHRF, said the water board was now trying to collect charges for the water supplied to a particular area from the locality people.
Those households which do not have a water meter were being taxed unfairly.
In the name of rationalising the supply, the water board had placed an additional burden ranging from Rs. 55 to Rs. 300 per month.
