Unbeaten double century by Vishnu

Bangalore: Vishnu's unbeaten 203 helped Mysore post 319 for six in the stipulated 75-over innings against Raichur in a KSCA inter-zonal under-14 tournament match that commenced here on Saturday.

At close, Raichur scored 85 for one in 23.1 overs.

The scores: Mysore 319 for six in 75 overs (Vishnu 203 n.o., Eshan Tantri 63) vs Raichur 85 for one in 23.1 overs (Chandrakanth 40 n.o.).

Dharwad 144 in 53.4 overs (Swapnil Yelve 40, Yashwith four for 15, Jitesh Shetty three for 17, Mashooq Hussain three for 19) vs Mangalore 93 for six in 40.4 overs (Mashooq Hussain 48).

Bangalore City XI 261 in 53.2 overs (Ankit Mishra 103, Uma Maheswhar 40, Bopanna 38, Kashyap 27, Karthik Nihal six for 47) vs Tumkur 94 for seven in 37 overs.

Bangalore Zone 251 for seven in 75 overs (Desmond Dass 112 , Vishak Rao 41) vs Shimoga 59 for three in 37 overs.

in semifinals

Punjab and Karnataka had it relatively easy, advancing into the semifinals of the 59th All India Police cluster volleyball championship at the Koramangala stadium courts here on Saturday, while both Haryana and RPF rallied to come from behind to make the grade.

In basketball, Punjab and Haryana again put up an impressive showing to storm into the semifinals.

While Punjab downed Maharashtra 73-49, Haryana got past Jammu & Kashmir 80-61

Quarterfinals: Punjab bt TN 29-27, 25-23, 22-25, 25-23.

Karnataka bt CRPF 25-15, 20-25, 25-21, 25-19; RPF bt ITBP 25-19, 21-25, 22-25, 25-23, 15-8.

Haryana bt Kerala 23-25, 19-25, 25-20, 25-22, 15-8.

Basketball: Punjab 73 (Gurkripal Singh 25) bt Maharashtra 49 (Mahesh Nagne 10).
