Kolkata: The West Bengal Government on Tuesday admitted that the 137-acre water body at Dankuni that was allegedly filled up by the Railways for a project was recorded as a land by mistake in 1986. State Land and Land Revenue department officials admitted so in a hearing before the Parliamentary Standing Committee of the State Assembly, Committee chairman Tarapada Chakraborty said. He said this after a meeting with the State Agriculture Minister Naren De. Mr. Chakraborty argued that the Railway Ministry had leased out the disputed water body to fishermen till March 2011. - PTI
