Guwahati: A day after Bhutanese Prime Minister Jigmi Thinley denied the presence of any United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) leaders or detainees in Bhutan, and stated that all extremists captured during Operation All Clear in 2003 were handed over by Bhutan to Indian authorities, the insurgent outfit on Tuesday demanded that New Delhi clarify on the whereabouts of 14 ULFA leaders who the outfit claimed had been missing since the Bhutan operations. Indifference to demand In an e-mailed statement, ULFA spokesman and self-styled second lieutenant Arunodoi Dohotia alleged that the Government of India had been showing indifference to the outfit's demand for informing them about the whereabouts of the missing insurgent leaders. ULFA insisted that in view of the Bhutanese Prime Minister's clarification on the matter, the Government of India should now clarify its position regarding the whereabouts of the missing leaders of the outfit. The outfit also alleged that the Government of India was yet to make public any information about the arrest of two ULFA leaders in Bangladesh recently. ‘Leaders detained' The outfit earlier claimed that two of its leaders -- self-styled captain Antu Chowdang and second lieutenant Pradip Chetia -- were detained by Bangladesh authorities on December 13 while they were undergoing treatment there.
