Demand for new trains

NAGAPATTINAM: The Consumer Protection Council here has demanded for new trains and speedy expedition of gauge conversion works in the wake of the flagging of train services between Nagapattinam and Velankanni.

Memorandum

In a memorandum, R.Kaladharan, President, Consumer Protection Council has called for revival of the Nagore-Quilon and Nagore-Bangalore Express trains for the benefit of the pilgrims and new express trains to Mumbai and Coimbatore.

The weekly Vasco-Nagapattinam Express train should also be converted into a bi-weekly one for the convenience of pilgrims .

Additional bogies, both in the sleeper and unreserved category in the Nagore-Chennai Kamban express; and expedition of gauge conversion works between Mayiladuthurai and Tiruvarur was also demanded.
