ERODE: A sum of Rs. 2.63 lakh was distributed as welfare assistance to 22 beneficiaries at the public grievances redressal meeting held here on Monday. The assistance included accident relief worth Rs. 2 lakh and scholarships to the tune of Rs. 60,500 to 16 students. Collector T. Soundiah handed over the welfare assistance to the beneficiaries. He also received over 500 grievance petitions from the people. He assured that the petitions would be forwarded to departments concerned and steps would be initiated to redress the grievances of petitioners. Senior officials were present.
