Scholars from around the world expected to participate in four-day event Bangalore: Governor H.R. Bhardwaj will inaugurate the World Sanskrit Book Fair at the National College Grounds in Basavanagudi, here, on January 7. Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa and Ananth Kumar, MP, will participate in the inaugural programme, a press note here said. The four-day event is expected to attract a large number of Sanskrit scholars from universities and institutions of national and international repute. Meeting The working committee of the book fair held a meeting at the Raj Bhavan here on Tuesday to take stock of the preparations for the event. The meeting was chaired by the former Chief Election Commissioner N. Gopalaswami. Exhibition Former Indian Test cricket captain Anil Kumble will inaugurate an exhibition on ‘India's knowledge heritage' on January 6. About 7,000 delegates from different parts of the country will participate, the release added. Samskrita Bharati has taken the initiative to hold the book fair with the sponsorship of the Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan and the State Government.
