Chitradurga: Revenue Minister and district in-charge G. Karunakara Reddy has expressed his desire to see Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa continue in State politics.

He was commenting on the statement made by Mr. Yeddyurappa in Shimoga on Wednesday that he wished to shift his political base to the Centre after the next Assembly polls.

Addressing presspersons during an election campaign at G.R. Halli here on Thursday, he said that he came to know about Mr. Yeddyurappa's plans only through the media.

Mr. Reddy refuted the allegations made by the former Minister and suspended MLA from Hosadurga taluk, Gulihatti Shekhar, that the Reddy brothers had betrayed the independent MLAs. “We never betrayed them. In fact, we were the ones who urged the Chief Minister not to drop them (the independents) from the Ministry,” he said.

Earlier in the day, he held a door-to-door campaign urging people to vote for the Bharatiya Janata Party candidates.
