Kuchipudi artistes felicitated

HYDERABAD: Minister for Tourism and Culture Vatti Vasant Kumar on Thursday felicitated about a dozen Kuchipudi artistes of Indian-origin living abroad and said the government would do everything to patronise the art.

Platform

At a function organised by the Andhra Pradesh State Cultural Council on Thursday, he said the government would arrange a platform for the artistes to display their skills in the art and also organise competitions for artistes of various countries. Also, a policy on culture would be announced soon, he said.

Among the artistes felicitated on Thursday were Srilatha Sri of Dallas, Chintapaludi Jyoti and Neelima G. of Atlanta, Lakshmi Babu (Washington DC), C. Kantham (New York), Divya Yeluri (New Jersey), Kalyani Avula (California) and Vedavalli of Kuwait, among others. Council chairman R.V. Ramana Murthy was among those present.
