Officials asked to complete mega watersheds

SANGAREDDY: Collector S. Suresh Kumar directed the officials to complete the mega watersheds allotted for the district.
In a review meeting held here on Thursday, Mr. Suresh Kumar said that the projects, sanctioned last year by the Union government, were be taken up at Kangti, Kalher, Kondapur, Jarasangam and Regode. While Deccan Development Society took up the works at Regode, the works were being administered by District Water Management Agency (DWMA).
He said that around 25,000 hectares of land would be developed by implementing these watersheds at a cost of Rs.30.40 crore. The Union government has also sanctioned 10 mega watersheds for 2010-11 at an estimated cost of Rs.55.64 crore to develop 46,000 hectares. He directed the officials to present detailed project report on the watersheds before March 15.
