Tribal folk arts festival today in Sirsi

SIRSI: A cultural festival, “Tribal Folk Art”, will be held on Saturday at Lions Hall from 5.30 p.m. under the auspices of Kannada and Culture Department, Karwar, Zilla Graminabhivraddhi Swayam Seva Samstegala Okkuta, Lions Club, and Lions Education Society, Sirsi.

Rajyotsava Award-winner Narayan Bhagwat Nebbur will inaugurate the programme. Mangala Naik, Assistant Director of Kannada and Culture Department, Lions Club president Vinay Hegde, and Lions Education Society president K.V. Hegde will be the chief guests. Okkuta president Venkatesh Naik will preside over the function.

There will be Damami Kunita by Siddanatha Damami team Gullapur, Marakalu Kolata by Srimata Kala team Nelemav in Siddapur taluk, Gouli dance by Rajivwada Gouli team Yellapur, Kolalata or Sannekolu by Jaddigadde team Sirsi and Yakshagana by Yaksha Shalmala Makkala Mela Koligar in Sirsi taluk on this occasion.
