Panther attacks woman

Valparai: A plantation worker was attacked by a panther when she ventured out of the house to wash vessels. It is learnt that a panther that was hiding near a dilapidated house pounced on her.

As she screamed for help, the panther ran away, say local residents. She was rushed to a hospital. Forest officials have deployed more staff and vigil was being maintained to prevent entry of wild animals into human habitations.
