OUCE students bag record 478 job placements

HYDERABAD: Osmania University College of Engineering (OUCE) scripted a new chapter this year with a record 478 jobs offered to the BE, ME and MCA final year students by four top companies in the recruitment drive held on campus from December 13 to 22.
The jobs were offered by four IT giants -- Accenture, Cognizant, Infosys and Wipro Technologies at the ‘Premium Company Recruitment Drive' organised by the placement wing of Osmania University College of Engineering Cognizant offered 179 jobs, Wipro Technologies 140, Infosys 122 and Accenture 37 jobs.
Osmania University College of Engineering Placement Officer V. Uma Maheshwar said that Cognizant offer of 179 recruitments was the highest ever by any company in the history of OUCE.
Job Offers made by Infosys and Wipro Technologies were also the highest ever offers made by the respective companies till date on the campus.
Accenture visited the college for the first time for selecting students from BE and MCA only.
The job offers were announced by Prof. Uma Maheshwar in the presence of Rohit Eustachius and Ramam Atmakuri from Cognizant; G. Narendra from Wipro Technologies and K. Sudheer Reddy of Infosys.
A. Venugopal Reddy, Principal of OUCE congratulated students for the feat. He said OUCE was confident that the placements would touch 100 p.c. in 2010- 2011.
