MADURAI: Adi Dravida Welfare Minister A. Tamilarasi made a surprise visit to a government girls' hostel in Melur on Thursday. Accompanied by Collector C. Kamaraj and other revenue officials, the Minister drove into the hostel campus during forenoon and inquired with the hostel inmates about facilities provided by the government. After a brief interaction with the girls and staff, they went around the kitchen, checked the inventory of essential commodities and the upkeep of bathrooms and toilets. The Minister directed the hostel authorities to keep the premises clean. When some of the inmates sought additional facilities, including potable water, Ms. Tamilarasi assured to look into them and get it done at the earliest.
