‘Procedures made easy'
Staff Reporter
HOSUR: The Hosur New Town Development Authority (HNTDA) has sanctioned nine layouts in the last four fiscal and 10 layouts are pending approval, said Pankajkumar Bansal, Director of Town and Country Planning, here on Friday.
Address newsmen, Mr. Bansal said that the panchayats were empowered to give building plan approval for houses up to 4,000 sq. ft and shopping complexes up to 2,000 sq. ft. For others, only the HNTDA had the powers to sanction approval in Hosur and surrounding villages which come within its purview.
He also said that the government had eased the approval procedures. The individual or the firm had to attach the required documents as per the checklist given by the department while applying for approval. If all the documents were attached, approval would be given within 30 days. If any particular case required the approval from the head office, then it would take 45 days.
Mr. Bansal said that the unapproved layouts should be dealt with by the HNTDA authorities. On selling a temple land in Hosur, which was announced as government land, he said Sub-Collector Prashant M. Wadnere would initiate action as per the rules.
Hosur MLA K. Gopinath, who is also a member of the HNTDA, said that the authorities were taking utmost care while giving approval for the layouts.
