Health Minister P.K. Sreemathy addressing the stone-laying ceremony of the complex attached to the Taluk Hospital at Ranni on Thursday. PATHANAMTHITTA: Health Minister P.K. Sreemathy laid the foundation stone for the proposed multi-storey out patient-cum-surgical complex attached to the Taluk Hospital at Ranni at a function held on the hospital premises on Thursday afternoon. Addressing the gathering, the Minister said the government had launched a series of programmes aimed at extending maximum possible healthcare facility to the people. Ensuring necessary infrastructure development and sufficient staff strength was also on the Government's agenda, she said. Closest to Sabarimala She said Ranni Taluk Hospital assumed much significance as it was the nearest hospital to Sabarimala. Raju Abraham, MLA, presided the function. The MLA said that the proposed complex would be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 4.85 crore. The Kerala State Construction Corporation had been entrusted with the construction of the building. S. Haridas, Komalam Anirudhan, district panchayat members and Benny Puthenparambil, block panchayat president, also addressed the meeting.
