Man charged with incest

VISAKHAPATNAM: A minor girl, who was raped allegedly by her father, has finally lodged a complaint with the Bheemunipatnam police.

The 16-year-old victim was first raped allegedly by her father Raju, an RMP doctor, when she was in Std. VII. At that time, the victim, her mother, sister and father were staying at Madhurawada on the outskirts of the city. Subsequently, they shifted to Bheemunipatnam, according to SI P. Suryanarayana.

The accused allegedly started harassing his daughter once again, and the victim approached women's organisations for help. She lodged a complaint with their help. The mother of the victim confirmed her daughter's statement, according to the police.

The accused was yet to be arrested.

Shops looted

A shutter-lifting gang has looted six shops in Gajuwaka in the early hours of Friday. The miscreants broke into two medical shops, a chit fund company office, a cell phone showroom, a cell accessories shop and a cloth store and ransacked the shops. The total value of property stolen was Rs.16,500. On getting information, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) J. Brahma Reddy, Assistant Commissioner of Police (South) Atchuta Rao, Circle Inspectors M. Deva Prasad (Law and Order) and Bapuji (Crime) visited the shops. Members of the Clues Teams gathered evidences.

13 arrested

Thirteen youths were taken into custody by the City Task Force on the charge of teasing women and girls in and around the RTC Bus Complex on Friday. On a tip-off, CTF SI Tirumala Rao and his men conducted a raid and took the accused into custody and handed them over to the Two Town police for further investigation. The raids were conducted on the directions of Assistant Commissioner of Police (Special Branch) Ch. Adinarayana.
