HYDERABAD: P.C. Vignesh of Andhra Pradesh set up a title clash with Aditya Madkekar of Maharashtra in the Vegesna Anata Koti Raju all-India ranking tennis tournament, organised by Cosmopolitan Club in Bhimavaram, on Saturday. In the first semifinal, Vignesh outslugged Lakshit Sood of Uttar Pradesh 6-4, 6-7(5), 6-3 while Madkekar cruised past Chandril Sood (Uttar Pradesh) 6-1, 6-2 in the other semifinal. The results (semifinals): Men: P.C. Vignesh (AP) bt Lakshit Sood (UP) 6-4, 6-7(5), 6-3; Aditya Madkekar (Mah) bt Chandril Sood (UP) 6-1, 6-2. Women: Eetee Maheta (Guj) bt Ankita Bhatia (Dli) 7-5, 6-2; Dangwal Vaniya (Dli) bt Chilumula Nidhi (AP) 6-2, 6-3 . Salil, Sathwika triumph Salil Dandriyal and Sama Sathwika emerged champions in the under-10 category of the Ghaus Muhammad Khan Afridi memorial tennis tournament, organised by Sports Coaching Foundation (Masab Tank), here.
