Demand to regularise Class IV staff

HYDERABAD: The Girijana Vidyarthi Samakhya (Tribal Students' Federation) on Sunday demanded regularisation of the services of 1935 Class IV employees working in over 440 tribal welfare hostels and 500 tribal welfare ashram schools across the State.

Addressing the State-level office-bearers' meeting here, V. Shankar Naik, founder-president of the federation, said the Class IV employees were working on daily wages. He charged the government with ‘neglecting' their interests. Mr. Naik threatened to lay siege to the Secretariat if the administration failed to concede the demand. Leaders of the samakhya from all regions attended the meeting.
