KOLKATA: Chandrasish Majumdar and Joydev Saha emerged joint leaders with full five points each after as many rounds in the Mayor's Cup Fide rating chess at the Town Hall on Sunday. Chandrashish Majumdar made short work of his opponents to bring out confident wins against Dilip Das (fourth round) and Avijit Sarkar (fifth) in the two rounds of action in the day. Former National under-12 boys' champion, Joydev Saha proved his worth with fine show of consistency to be the only other player to win both rounds. Top seeded Anjan Mallick and second seeded Diptayan Ghosh slipped to the second spot conceding a draw each to end with 4.5 points at the half-way stage of the tournament. Important results (fifth round): Diptayan Ghosh (4.5) drew with Rupankar Nath (4.5); Projit Phukon (4) lost to Joydev Saha (5); Chandrasish Majumdar (5) bt Avijit Sarkar (4); S.
