Karuna Award for three
Staff Reporter
Bangalore: Eminent floriculturist H.C. Asha Seshadri; the former Project Director, Animal Disease Monitoring and Surveillance, Bangalore, M. Rajashekar; and Chairman of Centre for Ecological Sciences, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, Raman Sukumar were conferred with Karuna Award for their contributions in their respective fields.
The awards are instituted by the Karuna Trust.
Ms. Seshadri emphasised the need for the Government to come up with strategies to retain the youth in agriculture.
Mr. Rajashekar is recognised for his contribution towards understanding bovine diseases.
Mr. Sukumar laid emphasis on the need to draw a balance between the needs of people and wildlife.
