TIRUPATI: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has been selected for the prestigious ‘Talented conservator award' for preserving the green belt and protecting the ecology of the seven hills. The TTD management, by growing medicinal plants at Srinivasa Mangapuram, SV Ayurvedic College and all along the seven hills for over a decade, has played a key role in preserving the fragile ecology. The award will be presented to TTD at the three-day international seminar on ‘Medicinal plants and herbal products' to be conducted jointly by AP Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Board (Hyderabad), AP State Council of Science and Technology (APCOST) and SVU Department of Botany to be conducted here this week.
