Host of other people win prizes at AP Cinegoers' 6 {+t} {+h} Annual TV Awards

HYDERABAD: Shanti Swaroop, the doyen of Telugu television news presentation, was honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award at the AP Cinegoers' 6 {+t} {+h} Annual TV Awards-2009 presented by T. Subbarami Reddy at Lalithakala Parishath here on Tuesday.

The awards event at Hari Hara Kala Bhavan had MP T. Subbarami Reddy felicitating Mr. Shanti Swaroop in the presence of celebrities from film and television industry including actress Archana and Kavitha.

The Movie Artists Association (MAA) president Murali Mohan also participated in the event.

Many prizes

The award ceremony for honouring talented people in Telugu television covered a wide range of prizes including best actor award for Sagar (‘Mogali Rekulu' on Gemini TV) and best actress for Manjula (‘Chandramukhi' on ETV) while Ragini received the best comedian award for her performance in the serial ‘Mangatayaru'.

Udaya Bhanu walked away with the best female anchor award for her anchoring of shows on Maa TV and ETV while Sai Kumar received the best male anchor award for his anchoring of ‘Wow' on ETV.

Special awards and special jury awards, too, were presented on the occasion.

Cultural programmes including mime, dance and song were organised on the occasion.
