BANGALORE: Punaruthana, a non-governmental organisation that has launched the Save Earth to Save Yourself campaign, is organising a two-day music concert here from December 31. On the first day, there will be performances by singer Jagjit Singh and child artistes featured in the television show Saregama, while Shivamani, Balabhasker and Layatharanga will perform on January 1. The concerts will mark the 60th birthday of Gurumatha Amma, founder of Punaruthana, and will raise funds for the organisation's activities. According to a release, Punaruthana has planted over 25,000 saplings in the last 15 years. Besides, it has also been involved in counselling teenagers to help them cope with exam stress, as well as parents to help them improve their relationship with children. Providing homes for the aged, and educating and supporting the less fortunate are also part of its work. The concert will start at 6.30 p.m. at Gayathri Vihar in Palace Grounds, and is being held in association with Rippons, a financial management company.
