This Day That Age
Mr. K.C. Reddi, Union Minister for Works, Housing and Supply, on December 28 urged State Governments to fully absorb in their State Plans the allocations for housing recommended by the working groups which had recently examined in the Planning Commission the extent and scope of the housing programme for the Third Plan. Mr. Reddi, who was addressing the Fifth Conference of Housing Ministers in Udaipur, said that the total demands originally made by the States which added up to some Rs. 185 crores had now been pruned down to about Rs. 150 crores. The size of the final allocation would depend in a large measure upon the priorities accorded by the States themselves in their Plans.
