dated December 30, 1960: Indigenous medicine

The Committee on Indigenous Systems of Medicine has submitted its report to the Government. The Committee, presided over by Dr. P.M. Mehta, was appointed in August last to advise the Madras Government on the setting up of a College of Indigenous Medicine in the State at degree level to teach the systems of Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani and to suggest ways and means of developing indigenous systems with special reference to research work and also the methods of improving the standards of manufacture.
