Performance award for cooperative bank

ALAPPUZHA: The Chennithala-Thripperumthura Service Cooperative Bank (CSCB) has won the district-level award for the best performing bank.

District Cooperative Bank president M. Surendran presented the award to CSCB president Iype Chandapillai here recently. The bank was selected for its performance in the banking sector and the diversified manner in which it had interacted with the public, according to a release.

The bank had deposits worth Rs.45 crore. It had given away loans worth Rs.36 crore. About 750 Kissan Credit Cards had been issued to farmers in the Chennithala village. It had been organising counselling programmes for students, health awareness classes and campaigns apart from free medical camps and free medicine distribution drives.
