SANGAREDDY: Rajya Sabha former member and CPI(M) Central Committee member P. Madhu demanded the district administration to sanction Rs.1 crore – Rs.50 lakh from local municipality and Rs.50 lakh from the State government to improve the sanitation at the district headquarters. Serious problems Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, who was here to inaugurate a library constructed with the funds sanctioned by him at the Women's Degree College, Mr. Madhu said that lack of sanitation would create serious problem in the near future. He said that about Rs. 20 lakh was sanctioned by during his term for different development works in Sangareddy. Referring to the problems being faced by the people including price rise, the CPI(M) leader the public were wondering whether the government was functioning at all. “Many say that the rule of K. Rosaiah was far better than the current rule,” he said. On lifting the cases against the students as a result of the fast taken up by the Congress leaders, Mr. Madhu said that they demand the government to withdraw cases registered against them during the struggle for land for the poor. “We fought for the poor to provide them shelter. Why not the government should withdraw cases against us?” he asked. CPI(M) State committee member B. Mallesh was also present.
