Success story:Sumalatha anchoring for ‘Sakhi' on ETV. HYDERABAD: Enduring big success on the small screen is not an easy task. Most shows vanish even before creating a ripple, some sink without a trace after a splash but few make waves and sustain the success to ride the crest. And, ‘Sakhi' on ETV-2 which just cut the cake and celebrated seven years clearly falls in the last category. The afternoon show on ETV-2 ran a special and colourful show this week to celebrate seventh anniversary and had all its anchors and team members including those involved behind the small screen, joining in. One of the most popular Telugu television shows, ‘Sakhi' draws strength from constant evolution. Segments for the show are not left to rot with ideation that goes stale but are renewed and refreshed with new ideas which clearly makes the difference. In last few months alone, the production team has added six to seven new segments covering different aspects that immediately struck a chord with target viewers. If ‘Sakhi.com' is technology driven segment which acts as a guide on internet, web, emails and sharing photos, ‘Dance Therapy' and others segments on staying fit are the recent additions. NGOs and socially relevant initiatives too are included while the focus on nutrition has an expert from the National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) offering inputs. T. LALITH SINGH
