It is decided to prepare draft plan enhancing the size of the city It should focus on planned execution of infrastructure VIJAYAWADA: The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) will hold consultations with various government departments, agencies, elected representatives and different stakeholders like commercial establishments and residential welfare associations in the first week or second week of January to finalise a vision plan for Vijayawada. At a meeting on Wednesday, it was decided to prepare a draft vision plan enhancing the size of the city from the present 61 sq. km. with the help of School of Planning and Architecture Vijayawada. Municipal Commissioner G. Ravi Babu, SPA Vijayawada Director Shovan K. Saha, Professor of Planning Seshu V. Musunuri, Professor of Architecture S. Ramesh and City Planner R.J. Vidyullatha participated in the meeting. It was felt that the draft should focus on systematic and planned execution of infrastructure by properly implementing solid waste management plan, physical and social infrastructure, ecological concept plan, road network and so on.
